Pre K and Head Start Students are using Line, Shape, color, Pattern and Primary colors to mix to paint secondary colors in order to create an abstract artwork we will later turn into something more realistic!

Students started the year with an ABSTRACT shape and LINE artwork in which we painted with PRIMARY colors to mix on our Yellow paper! :)  We used Line variation, overlapping shapes, color and line and shape patterns, and color mixing!

2017-2018 School year

-Pre k and Head Start student artists will be using shapes to make a ’realistic’  drawing and primary colors to mix secondary colors!

-Students will draw grapes through observation using line, circles and ovals! Students will paint the grapes green or purple by mixing primary colors- Blue and red make purple and blue and yellow mix to make green! 

-Students will paint a different colored background through color mixing another set of primary colors!  For example- Yellow and red will mix to make orange!

Andy Warhol Pop Art Inspired Layered HAnd 'Prints'

Pre K and Head Start students are Creating a multi-layered Collaged and Printed Artwork inspired by Pop Art and Andy warhol using Color contrast, layers, hand-printing, and collage techniques!

Pre-K Students are Learning about clay techniques and color through a Textured Clay Slab Animal Necklace!  We are also learning about Realistic and Abstract Colors, and patterns through making a clay animal necklace of the animal of our choice!

 

Students chose an animal, rolled out a clay slab, added a Texture using told and texture plates, then chose a realistic color to paint the animal.  after the BASE COLOR, PRe K and Head start students are adding abstract colored pattern to their animal.  We will then use pattern and Symmetry to add beads to our necklace!

PreK and Headstart Students created a Realisticly Colored and Textured Lion's mane by Painting with a Fork and Warm Colors!  Students also added Lines and Shapes to complete their Lion!

PreK and HEad Start Students are Learning about COLOR MIXING with PRIMARY COLORS to MAKE SECONDARY COLORS using paint in their background!  They will then use shapes and lines to PRINT their DINOUSAR's Body Parts!

PK Students are reading the Story- Andrew Drew and Drew and observing how he uses different types of line!

We have learned aline dance and discussed shapes whcih will help us use collaged shapes and lines to create our shape monster!

 

 Pre K and HEad Start StudeNts Practice Mixing Colors on their Half Circle  DINOSAUR BODY  with OIL PASTELS! WE LEarned that Yellow and Blue make Green! Blue and Red Make Purple! and Yellow and Red MAke ORANGE!
