Students are starting their year off by learning about Art Classroom Routines!  We all have made a Name Tag- Sketchbook that we will use throughout the year to brainstorm and plan our CREATIONS!

1st Graders are Drawing then sculpting a Oaxacan anispired Fantasy Animal, using forms, pattern, contrasting colors, and detailed painting techniques!

Students practiced creating modeling clay sculptures from observing an object! Students used what weve learned about sculpture and Form to observe and create realism

1st Grade Students Have created Printed and Scractch Art Eric Carle Inspired Paper and have now turned them into 3d Mask Forms.  Each students is adding 3D Paper Forms using Paper Folding Techniques To turn it into their CHOSEN ANIMAL! Lastly, Students added 3 Dimensional Adornments and Attachments which were symmetrical!

1st Grade Students Have created Printed and Scractch Art Eric Carle Inspired Paper and have now turned them into 3d Mask Forms.  Each students is adding 3D Paper Forms using Paper Folding Techniques To turn it into their CHOSEN ANIMAL!

1st Grade Artists have Printed on their Eric Carle Inspired Tissue Paper and used scratch art!  They used, warm cool, or neutral color schemes!Students have also practiced Sketching their  Animal for their Eric Carle Inspired Animal Mask!

1st Graders are Using the Style of ERIC CARLE COLLAGE and paper making to make a 3D Animal Mask!  First, we sketched our animal and chose our COLOR scheme between WARM, COOL , or NEUTRAL colors! Then, we made paper with SCRATCH art on Tissure paper like Eric Carle!  Next, we will add 3d Forms to create our animal MAsk!

1st Graders are Using the PRIMARY COLORS to mix to make the SECONDARY colors while painting a water color resist on top of their patterns! (Inspired by the artists Mondrian and Romero Britto!

1st Graders Practiced using Mondrian's Style, a variety of line, and primary colors in our sketchbook so we can combine it with contemporary Artist's, Romero Britto's style When we paint, mix colors and draw for our first unit!

Students in 1st grade are using a variety of line and PRIMARY colors to practice drawing for our upcoming color mixing MONDRIAN unit! See our practice and process below!
