2nd graders are DRAWING Portraits FROM OBSERVATION with realistic facial proportions!! :)

2nd grade students are Using Art Elements, Line, shape, color mixing and blending, and value changes to paint a name design sketchbook cover!

2nd Grade Students are in the process of creating a STRANGE STILL LIFE in which students choose their still life objects from many different flowers, figures, sculptures, and animals.  Studentsd are completing an observational drawing and watercolor resist of one or more objects! See their great work below!

2nd Grade Students have completed a Frank Stella Inspired Sculpture and a Frank Stella Style Inspired Straight Edge Painting and Have combined them together as one large mixed media Sculpture!

2nd Graders have Completed Patterned Paper Forms for their Sculpture and have started STRAIGHT EDGE concentric Shape Paintings in either black and white, or colors.  All inspired by Artist, Frank Stella's unique Style!

2nd grade students began turning their water color resist painting into a sculpture wirh 3d Paper Forms, patterns, and Paper Folding Techniques!

2nd Grade students started using CONTRASTING COLORS to create a WATERCOLOR RESIST for their FRANK STELLA Inspired SCULPTURE! Students are learning about which colors on the color wheel are Opposites or COMPLETENTARY colors! View our works in progress below! 
 

2nd Graders are practicing using SHAPES and PATTERNS in their sketchbook which are overlapping to start our watercolor resist inspired by contemporary artist, Frank Stella! 

2nd Graders are Practicing using a variety of lines and geometric and organic shapes to create a FRANK STELLA inspired artwork!

9-8-15- Josue used    Symmetry on his

*Sketchbook-Nametag* and also made a design around each staple to be creative!!
